2012 여수 엑스포를 관람하러 왔는데 먹거리와 잠잘 곳이 걱정이라고요?

Hanok(Korean Traditional-Style House) Village located in Jeonju City


1. Jeonju Hanok Village

Jeonju city has desinated the hanok village so that they more systematically preserved its beautiful scenery and unique ecosystem. You can experience Korean-Style House.

And there is a traditinal korea dance performance show as well. It is wonderful chance to experience the Korea culture.

2. Joun-Dong Catholic Church

You enjoy a grand view of the Catholic Church in village. It is a Joun-Dong Catholic Church. This is the modern construction of western style whose land is seleted by the priest Baudenet in 1889, whic is designed by the priest poisnel in 1908 and is completed in 1914. This is the largest and the oldest modern construction among thoese located in honam region.

3. Bibimbab

Bibimbab is the most representative of Jeonju Foods. I heard that americans enjoy eating korean dishes such as Kimchi, Bibimbab, Bulgogi, and Galbi. Because, they are health and delicious. Try this food and see if you like it !

** EXPO 2012 Yeosu Korea, Contents Preview !  **

The three-month expo will be held at the Yeosu City, Korea from May 12, 2012 until Aug. 12. The upcoming expo is the second international exposition held in Korea(Korea’s first international exposition was held in Daejeon in 1993), and will be held under the theme “Living Ocean and Coast.”


* Thema Pavilion

The Theme Pavilion, the first offshore pavilion in Korea, is the main pavilion expressing the Expo theme, “The Living Ocean and Coast.”

This Pavilion presents the diversity and beauty of the ocean and human efforts to learn more about the ocean’s value and ways to preserve it.

It shows the relationship between the ocean as a vital life force and humans who have thrived on its resources through time.


* Korea Pavilion

 



The Korea Pavilion presents the future vision of Korea as a leading maritime nation, shedding new light on Korea’s advanced and expansive marine knowledge and technology.

This Pavilion presents "Korea’s Spirit of Ocean Exploration and Ocean Capabilities."


* International Pavilion



A Major Pavilion along with the Theme Pavilion, Sub-theme Pavilions, and Korea Pavilion.

Covering the largest area on the site, the International Pavilion is comprised of exhibitions by countries in Individual national pavilions and in Joint national pavilions.

The five ocean clusters symbolizing harmony, coexistence and prosperity feature exhibitions in a column-less exhibition area.

Each participating country is informed of the characteristics of its pavilion space well ahead of time to ensure exhibitions complement the space and truly highlight the uniqueness of the country.

The participating countries plan their exhibitions together in Joint national pavilions and ensure their own special features are well presented. They are designed to have 135 modules for 50 nations in groups of 10 per Joint national pavilion.


* International Organization Pavilion


Many ocean- and environment-related international organizations participate in the pavilion.

The exhibitions display the various activities of global organizations for ocean conservation and sustainability, suggesting directions for future efforts.

* Nine International Organization are considering taking part in the event. : (UN, OECD, FAO, IPCC, PEMSEA, CBD, IOC, GEF, WFP)


* Corporate Pavilion


The Corporate Pavilion shows the present and future of the shipbuilding, marine, IT and green-growth industries. This Pavilion features diverse exhibitions that offer enjoyment and inspiration to visitors.
 
It is comprised of 7 Individual Company Pavilions and 1 Joint Corporate Pavilion (8 modules in total).
 
The confirmed participants include POSCO, Lotte, GS, Samsung, LG, SK, and Hyundai Motor. Also, Korea Shipowners’ Association and Hanwha Chemical will participate in the Joint Corporate Pavilion.


* Marine Life Pavilion / Aquarium


Diversity and Beauty of the Ocean

The Marine Life Pavilion is designed to show the mystery and beauty of the coast (mudflats) and marine life, and teach the value of marine ecosystems and marine species diversity.

The Green Aquarium emphasizes the importance of ocean culture diversity and the protection of natural resources.

Major Exhibition Content

Endangered marine animals like belugas, Baikal seals, and sea dragons will be available for viewing for the first time in Korea.

Korea’s first dome aquarium provides a 360-degree view that offers a vivid underwater experience.

The Amazon Eco-Terrarium and Korea’s largest jellyfish tank in the aquarium offer great sights.

Harmonious Coexistence with Marine Organisms

Coastal Life (Sea Mammal Room):

Here visitors can observe and interact with coastal animals at close proximity.

This unique exhibition highlights marine mammals’ behavior and ecology.

The animals available for viewing include beluga, Baikal seal, penguin, seal, fur seal, etc.

Exhibit of belugas for the first time in Korea and research on the species

Marine Life (Sea Experience Room):

It is designed to allow visitors to see, touch, smell and hear the animals.

Sharks and a school of rays are available for viewing in the large observation window and aquarium dome.

The marine ecosystems of the five oceans and the Korean peninsula are on display. Visitors can enjoy an exciting show featuring anchovies.

Some 200 species of animals are available for viewing including large sharks, large rays, sardines, sea turtles, jellyfish, etc.

Eco-Terrarium:

This large jungle experience hall represents the ecological features of the Amazon.

The exhibition is designed to capture nature itself and send messages about the importance of environmental conservation.

Some 100 species of animals are available for viewing including pirarucus and piranhas.
